Boost Your TBR List: Cappadonna by Jahquel J

Updated: Mar 28

Guess whose back? Back again. Jahquel back. Tell a friend!

First all lets talk about Capone. Capone is a great first book and a soft introduction but it’s in a way a separate entity. When Cappadonna comes home the plot line starts moving and I can see why Jahquel wrote it this way. Since Jahquel created the book up to be broken up into seasons, I never read a 'soap opera' book but I love it!! Cappadonna being the second season, makes it seems like an very long extended second book in most series. I like the uniqueness, Jahquel used to create this universe.

When you read all the books, Besides the original 5 characters which was introduced in Capone's season. Everyone else came into the story based on their association with Cappadonna.

When the character list starts to grow then, so does the plot. The use of multiple points of view adds to the story. It doesn’t stall the story or make it confusing. I'm very impressed when an author can have many characters with each with unique, consistent, growing plots. The characters added to the overall story while adding the drama too. I tell you one thing, there is never a dull moment in this crazy family. I'm here for it.

Of course, there's a love story. It can't be a good romance without it. Not toxic but a little insane. A lot more intense than season 1. If I had to pick one word for Season 2: Cappadona, it would be: intense. Nail biting at the edge of my seat; that's the level of intensity this season produced. When the jail doors open, Cappadonna and his craziness are released. From reading this book, I realized I may have a hint of toxicity in me. No matter how crazy and dramatic this season was. It's entertaining and I love it. From page 1 to the end of book 3.5. It held my attention. Now, I have read all the books and personally, this isn’t my favorite season. However, from a literature point of view, this is the most important season of this book series. This season completely shifts and transforms the Delgatos universe. Catch you next time!

It’s been a breeze.
